Both my daughter and son knew Neil through singing in a quartet at Roger Rocka’s in Music Man, and through high school. I am so sorry for you loss.

I was sorry to hear about your son’s passing. I went to Clovis West with Neil and my husband, Chris Durham and friend Lewis Baloian were very close to him. I would like more information on how student’s can apply for his scholarship. I am a Guidance Counselor at Bullard High now and the Scholarship Coordinator. I have some students who I feel would be great candidates to honor Neil’s memory. Thank you very much for helping students with their higher education goals.

      Thanks Janessa,
We are in the process of developing guidelines and the application process for the Scholarships. Your input in this matter will be highly appreciated.
We intend to start the program next year.

  3. David Slater, MD says:

Foundation members — I am the physician editor of Community
Medical Centers’ medical staff newsletter and am on its well being committee. I wonder if the Foundation would like to submit a medium-length article to the newsletter with the theme of how physicians can foster their patients’ and their own, physical and spiritual well being? This would be a chance to inspire and educate, to acquaint readers a bit with Neil and the Foundation, and impart a positive influence on our medical community. I would be happy to work with you on this. It just strikes me that physician well being/physician physical and spiritual health is in line with your mission. Regards, David Slater (559 459-6563)

I am sorry to have heard about Neil. He will be missed greatly. I also apologize for the business nature of my reply, but I am not certain how else to contact his parents. Please contact me at 949.824.7295 (main) or at the email submitted. One of the wonderful contributions to our society is that Neil helped invent a new medical technology at the University of California, Irvine. Pursuant to patenting this technology, the United States Patent and Trademark Office requires certain paperwork to be signed by the inventors, including Neil. As Neil has unfortunately passed away, his parents may sign on his behalf. It is urgent that we receive their signatures this week. Thank you and kind regards.
